Gender

Task 3 Evaluation

the write-up for this task should be an evaluation of the whole workshop. Include comments upon the following.

Gender

Consider, at the beginning of the workshop what thoughts did you have about gender? Are attitudes and behaviours goverened or influenced by gender? Does it influence our choices? What thoughts did you have during and after the essence machine work? How did the images and repetition of the images affect you?

Social Cultural and Historical Context

The two texts you explored were focused upon one gender: what insights did you gain into the social, cultural and historical conditions of these texts because of drama? Consider how the explorative strategies helped give you insights into the time and place of these texts.

Empathy

Consider moments when the drama allowed you to have a sense of empathy with the characters from the texts. Write about any insights you had from two perspectives:

In role I thought/ felt….

Out of role I thought /felt…..

Focus upon the work of others

What insights did you gain about the ways in which drama and theatrical elements and mediums can shape meaning for an audience. Be prepared to write about 2 mediums and 2 elements. For a piece of work that you watched say: what did they do? how did they do it? why did they do it that way? what impact did it have?

OCG Week 4

1. The counterpoint to the play is the 'Lone Aboriginal". You worked on interpreting one of the statements from this character in an abstract group image. Comment upon what you saw and how this helped your understanding of the whole play.

2. The final explorative startegy was cross-cutting. In groups you worked together to give an interpretation of one of the themes of the play either through the last scene of the play or through cross-cutting different scenes together. Comment upon what you achieved in this.
